Javier F. Gutierrez is a partner at Stuart Kane LLP, and practices in the Real Estate group.
Mr. Gutierrez helps clients acquire, finance, construct, lease, and dispose of real estate and other corporate assets. His diverse practice includes all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including the drafting and negotiation of:
- Commercial leases
- Operating agreements
- Purchase and sale agreements
- Reciprocal easement agreements
- Site development agreements
- Financing documents
Mr. Gutierrez has considerable experience representing Fortune 500 companies, as well as medium and small sized companies, in a wide range of traditional and non-traditional real estate and corporate transactions.
Mr. Gutierrez has continuously been selected as a 2015 and 2016 Southern California “Rising Stars” list by Super Lawyers magazine. In 2013, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) recognized Mr. Gutierrez with the Emergent Leadership Award for Professional Services. He is involved in a variety of real estate industry organizations, including the ULI Young Leaders Group Executive Committee, the Next Gen of International Council of Shopping Centers and the Building Industry Association of Orange County, and the African American Real Estate Professionals. In 2012, Gutierrez chaired a Pro Bono Technical Assistance Panel for ULI, a year-long endeavor which culminated in a 68-page report on homeless shelter planning and development for the Orange County Rescue Mission. Mr. Gutierrez is also a member of the State Bar of California, Orange County Bar Association, Orange County Hispanic Bar Association, OC Professional Network and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Since January, 2013, Mr. Gutierrez has been serving on the Board of Directors for American Family Housing, and is the Chair of the Real Estate Acquisitions Committee. In his role as Chair, he is responsible for guidance on all real estate assets for AFH and assists AFH in growing the number of immediately available beds for the homeless.
Prior to beginning his legal studies, Mr. Gutierrez completed the Senator Richard G. Polanco Fellowship in Sacramento with the California Latino Caucus Institute of Public Policy. As part of the fellowship, he studied public policy at California State University of Sacramento while working for both the California Attorney General’s Office and California State Assembly.
Mr. Gutierrez received his J.D. from the University of Southern California, and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
